Below is information regarding our softball program, the divisions, and player assessments.

EGGLL Softball Requirements:

  • Softball is open to girls.

  • We have programs for players from age 4-14

Softball Age:

Sluggers (age 4):

  • Sluggers is our introductory coed program for both players and parents.

  • Players must be age 4 as of 12/31 of the previous year to play Sluggers.

  • Sluggers play/practice 1X per week.

  • Sluggers does not include structured games

T-Ball (ages 5-6):

  • Players typically play 1 year of T-Ball.

  • Players must be age 5 as of 12/31 of the previous year to play T-Ball.  Younger players may register if their parent is willing to volunteer as a coach.

  • T-ball typically has 1 practice and 1 game per week

 

Farm (ages 6-7):

  • Players can expect to play 1 or 2 years of Farm.

  • 6-year olds with one year of T-Ball are eligible. 7-year olds with no prior experience will be placed in farm.

  • Ball is a 10" rubber ball

  • Coach Pitch & Tee

  • Games are 3 innings with continuous order batting lineup

  • Farm typically has 1 practice and 2 games per week in area towns

 

AA/Minors (ages 7 -9)

  • AA teams are formed by draft.  We do not encourage player/coach placement requests.

  • AA typically has 2 games & 1 practice per week.

  • AA plays a number of out of town games in area towns.

  • Ball is a 11" RIF ball

  • Season starts as coach pitch transitioning to player pitch in May

  • Games are 2 hours long or 6 innings

 

AAA/Minors (ages 8-11):

  • AAA teams are formed by draft.  We do not accept player/coach placement requests.

  • Ball is a 11" regulation softball

  • Players pitch at 35’

  • AAA typically has 2 games & 1 practice per week.

  • AAA plays a number of out of town games in area towns.

  • Games are 2 hours long or 6 innings

 

Majors (ages 10-12):

  • Majors teams are formed by draft.  We do not accept player/coach placement requests.

  • All 12-year olds will be placed in Majors.

  • Majors may have 4+ practices or games each week.

  • Ball is a 12” regulation softball

  • Players pitch at 40’

  • Majors play a number of out of town games in area towns.

  • Games are 2 hours long or 6 innings

 

Juniors (ages 13-15):

  • All 13 and 14-year olds will be placed in Juniors

  • Ball is a 12” regulation softball

  • Players pitch at 43’

  • Juniors play a number of out of town games in area towns.

  • Games are 2 hours long or 7 innings

  • No assessments required 

 

Softball Assessments

Softball assessments for majors & minors divisions will take place in March to allow league officials to determine the best placement of each player. Assessments help the league put together fair, safe and balanced teams.  Player Assessments will determine what level the player will participate in, NOT PLAYER AGE.
