Due to the weather forecast we are moving assessments to Sunday and adjusting the times. Please be aware that daylight savings starts Sunday morning so please plan accordingly.
East Granby/Granby Little League will hold Baseball and Softball assessments on Sunday, March 12th from 12:00pm to 2:30 pm at Granby Memorial High School’s turf fields, 315 Salmon Brook Street, Granby. Please park in the lot and proceed to the registration table. This assessment is required for all Little League baseball and softball players, ages 8 to 12, who are playing in the Majors/Minors division. Failure to attend can have an impact on the level your child plays in. Please attend the scheduled time outlined below for each age. Arrive 15 minutes ahead of your slot in order to check in and have your child begin warm-ups
12:00 - Baseball 12 (born 9/2010 to 8/2011)
12:30 - Baseball 11 (born 9/2011 to 8/2012)
1:00 - Baseball 10 (born 9/2012 to 8/2013)
1:30 - Baseball 9 (born 9/2013 to 8/2014)
2:00 - Baseball 8 (born 9/2014 to 8/2015)
Softball players registered in Majors/Minors will follow this schedule:

12:45 - Softball 9/10 (born between 1/2012 to 12/2013)
1:30 - Softball 7/8 (born between 1/2014 to 12/2015)
Please dress ready to play with your glove. Players must wear sneakers as cleats are not allowed on the turf field. If you have a bat and helmet, you can bring those as well, however we will have bats and helmets on site. The main purpose of assessments is to ensure we have an even distribution of skills when selecting teams. Our goal is to have “even” teams, allowing for close games and similar records at the end of the season. The primary criteria for which players play at each level is age. If necessary, we will use assessment scores to determine how to round out teams at each level, but this will be minimal. During assessments, we will give the players a chance to warm up. They will then be run through drills to assess their skills at fielding, catching, throwing, and hitting. Please remind your players that this is not a “test.” Everyone will make a team, and again, the main reason we do this is to draft equitable teams.
We will have bins on site for donations for the upcoming equipment swap. EGGLL clothing will also be for sale during assessment time.
