District tryouts for softball players ages 8 - 12 will be held on Tuesday, June 7th and Thursday June 9th.
Tryouts for the 11/12 team will be held on Tuesday, June 7th Salmon Brook Park Field 1. Tryout to begin promptly at 4:00 pm.
Tryouts for the 8/9/10 team will be held on Thursday, June 9th at Salmon Brook Park Field 1. Tryout to begin promptly at 4:30 pm.
We encourage all East Granby and Granby players to try out for these teams, but please understand that players will be selected to join the teams based on regular season play as well as the assessments at tryouts. This is a wonderful opportunity for girls to continue their growth in a highly competitive environment. . 11/12 Team Eligibility – The player needs to be softball league age 11 or 12, as of 12/31/2021 (Born in the years of 2009 or 2010) and must be playing at the Majors level in the Spring regular season. The player must have played in 8 of her team’s regular season games. There is a waiver process for injuries and other causes for missing games. The player must be an East Granby/Granby resident as of 2/1/22 or attend a school in East Granby/Granby.
8/9/10 Team Eligibility – The player needs to be softball league age 8, 9 or 10, as of 12/31/2021 (Born in the years of 2011, 2012 or 2013) and may be playing at the AA, AAA or Majors levels in the Spring regular season. The player must have played in 8 of her team’s regular season games. There is a waiver process for injuries and other causes for missing games. The player must be an East Granby/Granby resident as of 2/1/22 or attend a school in East Granby/Granby.
Availability – The players selected are expected to participate in all practices and games of the District 6 tournament. There will be practices beginning on June 13th, but regular season practices and games take precedence. Tournament games could start around June 22nd for the 11/12 team and on or after June 24th for the 8/9/10 team tournament format will be determined after team registration period closes. You can expect tournament dates to possibly last through the middle of July and possibly longer if a team is successful in advancing. It is expected that players will be available during the All Star practices & tournament times so please consider this commitment seriously as it is a family decision.
The following must be present at the time of the tryouts on June 7th /9th for all players trying out:
List of any conflicts that the player may have during the practice/tournament schedule- selection of players will be based on availability.

While some of the expenses for Districts are covered by EGGLL and fundraising, players selected for the District teams will be charged a $75 registration fee to help offset the cost of district play, uniforms, and other associated fees.
