WILL I BE PAID FOR SERVING AS AN UMPIRE

Umpires will be paid at the following rates:

When assigned to serve as an umpire alone

  1. Individuals assigned to umpire a AA or AAA game (alone) will be paid $35 per game.

When multiple umpires are assigned to a game

  1. Individuals assigned to umpire (home plate) for a AA or AAA game will be paid $30 per game
  2. Individuals assigned to umpire (the field) for a AA or AAA game will be paid $25 per game

HOW WILL I RECEIVE PAYMENT AFTER I UMPIRE

Each Umpire will need to bring an Umpire Assignment Completion (UAC) slip with them to their assigned game.  It is the umpire’s responsibility to get the manager for the home team to sign their UAC slip prior to leaving the field at the conclusion of the game.  The UAC slip will then be submitted to Umpire in Chief (Baseball) Dave Desimone for baseball games and (acting) Umpire In Chief (Softball) Brian Peverly for softball games.

UMPIRE ADVOCATE….WHAT IS THAT?

Any umpire under the age of 18, who is assigned to umpire an EGGLL game (baseball or softball) MUST have an Umpire Advocate at that game.  An umpire Advocate is not required to have any umpire knowledge or baseball knowledge.  The umpire Advocate is present to make sure that the youth umpire is treated fairly and with respect by coaches and fans throughout the game.  The Umpire Advocate is required to remain around the playing field, in the vicinity of the umpire for the entire game.  Serving as an Umpire Advocate does count towards your volunteer requirement.
