Welcome to the Granbeast website!

EGGLL Families and Friends,

Winter weather is still upon us, but soon enough, spring will arrive.  With it brings the sights, sounds, and joy of softball and baseball.  A new beginning and a welcome respite.

I would like to take a moment and thank Brandon Freeman for his time and commitment to East Granby LL and EGGLL as coach, board member, and president of both organizations.  I wish him success and happiness in his future endeavors.  As the new president of EGGLL, I am committed to the overall success of the league and the well-being of our youngsters.  I am looking forward to a great year!

As you well know, registration is OPEN for the 2021 spring season.  The Executive Board is committed, and working hard to make this season a great experience for all.  Last year we were able to offer two highly successful seasons (spring/summer and fall) in light of Covid and the hardships that it brought upon us.  By following the regulations and recommendations set forth by the State of Connecticut and local health departments, we created a safe environment for all who participated.  We will do the same in 2021.

We are in the process of finalizing assessments, and will post information when it is complete.  Stay tuned!

Our online store is up and running!  Click on the tab on our website to check out EGGLL gear.  We will also have sweatshirts at assessments for purchase.

Remember registration is OPEN!! We are allowing initial registration without payment until March 1.  All families intending to have their child play in the spring, will have to have their registration fee paid by March 12, 2021.

Families can sign up between March 1 and March 12.  Payment will be due at the time of registration.

Registration officially ends on March 12, 2021.  After March 12, a late fee of $50 will be applied to your invoice.

Registration Fees are the same as during the 2019 season and will be as follows:

                Little Sluggers Program (Ages 4-6) - $50.00

                T-Ball (Ages 5-7) - $65.00

                Farm (Baseball/Softball) (Ages 6-8) - $110.00

                AA Division (Baseball/Softball) (Ages 7-9) – $125.00

                AAA Division (Baseball/Softball) (Ages 8-11) - $125.00

                 Majors Division (Baseball/Softball) (Ages 9-12) - $125.00

                 Juniors/Seniors Division (Baseball/Softball) (Ages 13-15) - $150.00

Additionally, each family will be assessed a $50 volunteer fee which will be refunded at the end of the season if the volunteer requirement is satisfied.

EGGLL will be continuing its financial hardship, registration fee reduction initiative thus if any family is experiencing financial hardship and wishes to explore an EGGLL registration fee reduction or waiver, please contact Elise Cosker (East Granby Director of Social Services) or Sandy Yost (Granby Director of Social Services) .

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Vice President of Baseball, Brett Lowman or Vice President of Softball, Pat Lynch .

On behalf of myself and the EGGLL Executive Board, we look forward to a successful and fun-filled season.

League Updates

Hello EGGLL Families,

It is very exciting that winter sports are in full swing.  Kids are out shooting pucks and basketballs again, hitting the slopes, and hopefully feeling a bit of normalcy and positivity.  Winter weather is still in the forecast, but spring…and baseball and softball…is not too far behind.

A few reminders and notes from EGGLL:

  1.  Registration is open until March 12.  After that late fees will kick in.
  2.  Assessments are scheduled for Sunday, March 21 on the turf at Suffield High School.  A schedule for the day will be posted soon.
  3. Opening Day for the league will be Saturday April 24.
  4. If you have an outstanding balance with EGGLL, please look to settle up.

Juniors Baseball

In previous years, families have been concerned about the distance needed to travel for Juniors games, particularly those falling on weekdays. As a result, we have transferred to a new district, D8, for our regular season Juniors games. This will allow our Juniors teams to continue playing against towns, such as Windsor, Windsor Locks, and Enfield, that our players faced at the minors and majors levels. Following a D8 jamboree/league playoffs, we have the option to form an All Star team and play in the Juniors district playoffs in D6, our regular home district.

Any questions, please contact Juniors’ Coordinator and Player Agent Rep./Baseball, Dave Anderson.

Farm/AA Softball

We are making a structural change within our softball program.  In an effort to promote long term growth and involvement within the softball program, we will be combining Farm and AA softball for the upcoming season.  Regarding ages, the divisions will look like this:

Softball T-Ball 4-6 years old

Farm/AA 6-9 years old

AAA 9-11 years old

Majors 10-12 years old

The major goals of the “in house” Farm/AA program will be to foster basic softball skills, including pitching, and a knowledge of the game.  Keeping the kids’ interested, improving, and having fun with softball, now and in the future, is paramount and at the heart of the change.  The program cost will be $110.

Any questions or comments, please contact Vice President/Softball, Pat Lynch.

Regards,  EGGLL Board
